Boaster Goes Viral In China Despite VALORANT Not Being Released There
Fnatic stunned Europe in their journey to the Stage 2 Masters in VALORANT, having upset some of the worlds best teams to qualify for the first-ever international event in the games short history.
Once in Reykjavík, Iceland, it was Fnatic who continued to steal the show, with impressive victories over Version1, Team Liquid, and NUTURN, before falling just short in the Grand Finals.
Their underdog-like status was only amplified by their post-game antics, with captain Jake "Boaster" Howlett being the puppetmaster behind some exuberant celebrations and entertaining closing interviews.
Boaster's excitement and natural entertainment saw him go from 10,000 followers to 50,000 in the space of the week, dominating the internet and the VALORANT opposition likewise.
With a second-place silver medal, Boaster has now returned home to continue creating content and has now gone viral in China, despite VALORANT not even being released in the country yet.
Boaster Goes Viral In China For Singing In Mandarin
The English-born VALORANT star has opted to take to other forms of content when not practising with the Fnatic team, this time picking up a guitar and showing off his musical talents.
Boaster succeeded to wow viewers, and even non-viewers, by performing popular Chinese ballads, which have made the rounds on YouTube and Chinese video-sharing platform BilliBilli.
His singing has now hit nearly 2.5 million views across platforms, with many Chinese fans appreciating the cultural songs.
Taking to an interview with Upcomer, Boaster admitted: "I wasn’t expecting to get much or any attention at all.”
“I just love the music. I love singing, too, and I wanted to sing with the music, so I needed to learn it properly out of respect for the country and artists.
Boaster Shows Off Incredible Singing
The multi-talented internet sensation also showed off his voice by performing classic chart music, specifically songs by Lewis Capaldi and Ed Sheeran.
It's evident to see that the VALORANT IGL has more to offer in front of the screens, having entertained millions in the Stage 2 Masters and continuing to expand his fan base at home.
