FlyQuest has one foot in the Group Stages of the World Championships, after beating Team Liquid and securing a place in the Grand Final League of Legends Championship Series Summer 2020.

Going the full distance in the quest to become the highest-seeded team from North America, FlyQuest managed to come out on top, with Team Liquid dropping into the Losers' Finals alongside Team SoloMid. The winners of that will seek redemption through the Losers' bracket and upset FlyQuest, where the victors will secure automatic qualification into the group stages of the World Championship in Shanghai.

All three teams have already booked their tickets to Shanghai, with the top three teams in North America going to Worlds, however, the second and third-placed teams will be placed alongside ten other teams in the 'Play-in' rounds, of which only four will advance to the Group Stages.

The Semifinals themselves where a hard-fought battle between both sides, with FlyQuest proving too strong when team fighting, amongst other areas of gameplay.

Despite the best efforts from Team Liquid, and more specifically the Rookie of the Year, Tactical, Flyquest's consistency prevailed, as they shut down every lane in the final match and controlled many neutral objectives which allowed them to pile on the pressure and eventually break down the defence of Liquid.

Liquid fans have reason to be nervous going into their matchup against Team SoloMid if you analyse their performance over the five games versus FlyQuest. Whilst they managed to take two games, they failed to cement a comfortable composition style and experimented with drafts that they have been unsuccessful with throughout the year.

TSM themselves have made a solid run through the losers' bracket, comfortably seeing off Dignitas, getting their revenge on Golden Guardians, and overpowering the once-dominant Cloud9.

The Losers' final will kick off on September 5, at 9pm BST, with the winner joining FlyQuest as the same time the following day.
