Jarod "NWBZPWNR" Nandin has sadly passed away after contracting Covid-19. Nandin became a World of Warcraft and gaming legend back in 2013 for his BlizzCon cosplay rendition of the South Park gamer in the episode "Make Love, Not Warcraft". The cosplay went down as a perfect recreation of one of WoW's most flagrant memes and earned Nandin the nickname of "The South Park Guy" alongside a page inside the history books.

Nandin had previously been updating fans with his wellbeing after announcing that he had tested positive for the disease on December 22. Nandin's last Instagram post encapsulated his light-hearted nature, telling fans that he was going through treatment before making a direct reference to South Park and World of Warcraft crossover episode, “that which has no life”, which included the gamer that he'd often humanise.

His passing has left a hole in the community which he spent so many years making people laugh within. Having topped off his audacious look by shaving his head, Nandin's presence was felt at each BlizzCon and event which he attended.

Tributes have since poured in on social media, giving tribute to one of the most memorable figures in the WoW community.

Back in 2014, Nandin told LAWeekly's Liz Oganesian that he'd been playing WoW since 2007. In regards to his character, he said “I thought if I took that character and made him human, meaning if I portrayed him, it would just be hilarious”, before offering companionship for gamers who shared his weight and physical attributes by stating "This kind of gave them the courage or the understanding that it was okay for them, that there were possibilities".

GGRecon offers our condolences to Jarod Nandin's family and friends during this time.
