Though Evil Dead: The Game might have been dismissed early by many who presumed that the title would be a mere Dead by Daylight or Friday the 13th: The Game clone, fans of the Sam Raimi-helmed horror franchise have been loving it.

Standing as a sillier entry into the multiplayer horror genre than its counterparts, the groovy shooter has been keeping players engaged in their squads aiming to take down hordes of Deadites. And now, a new movie-themed update is keeping things fresh in a huge new addition to the game.

What Is Evil Dead: The Game's Army of Darkness Update?

The huge new update pays homage to the much-maligned (but equally-beloved) Army of Darkness. It has arrived in Evil Dead: The Game and is packing a hell of a lot of content to keep players engaged. These details were revealed in the new trailer, which you can see above.

Most notably, the update is bringing with it the new Castle Kandar map, as well as two brand-new weapons, as well as premium outfits. Recapturing the magic of Raimi's 1992 horror fantasy, we get to see Ash Williams wield his chainsaw like never before.

The two weapons are the mace and explosive crossbow, while the skins are available via purchase or free to unlock with the Season One Pass. These outfits include Henry the Red and Arthur, as well as a 'Gilded Attire' costume pack for the Necromancer Demon. If all of this wasn't enough, there's a whole new mode to play around with.

Evil Dead The Game Introduces Exploration Mode

When it comes to the new mode that arrived in Evil Dead: The Game, it's called Exploration, and very simply, allows you to jump into a single-player game and explore to your heart's content. This means that you can get to grips with Castle Kandar by yourself before taking to it with your squad. There will still be Deadites to look out for, though, so don't get too comfortable.

The huge update is looking to be an absolute treat for the die-hard Evil Dead fans, as well as the newbies who just want to blast some baddies. You never got that in Friday the 13th: The Game, did you? With the Army of Darkness update now live, we'll be seeing you in Castle Kandar.
