While Capcom is known for its legacy franchises like Resident Evil and Monster Hunter, it's going with something a little different in the form of Dragon's Dogma 2. The fantasy epic is unsheathing its sword on March 22, but giving us a taste of what's to come, the devs have gifted us the character creator.

Although we used to associate character creators with simulation games like The Sims, they've since become an integral part of many modern titles, allowing you to put your own likeness in these expansive worlds. More than just putting yourself in Vermund and Battahl, players have been creating a who's who of famous faces.

Dragon's Dogma 2 players are going wild with its character creator

Dragon's Dogma 2 isn't even out, and it's going viral for its character creator. Feeling like an evolution of more advanced character creators we've seen in the likes of Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3, Dragon's Dogma 2's only limits appear to be your own imagination.

Over on Reddit, one gamer showed off their impressive Pikachu character - honouring the Pokemon mascot. The OP says Dragon Dogma 2 has the "craziest" character creator they've ever seen, and it seems they're not alone in their musings.

Being able to get a headstart on creating your Arisen (player) and Main Pawn (companion) means we can tinker away for hours and while away the time until the full game releases. This creepy Eldritch Pikachu has sparked a trend of creative character creation, and to be honest, we don't know where it'll end.

Name someone, and chances are someone's already had a crack at making them in Dragon's Dogma 2. Likenesses of Timothée Chalamet's Paul Atreides from Dune, Bryan Cranston's Walter White from Breaking Bad, and even a Willem Dafoe doppelganger have all started doing the rounds.

Other video games have been seen, too, with The Witcher's Geralt of Rivia and Baldur's Gate 3's Lae'zel all finding a new home, while the ever-popular Shaggy from Scooby-Doo is also here. One of the more obscure ones we've seen is Handsome Squidward from SpongeBob SquarePants.

Our creative juices are already flowing when it comes to Dragon's Dogma 2, and while character creation is relatively minor when compared to a game that is four times larger than 2012's first game, an in-depth character creator is already proving a hit. Okay, how long until someone makes Homer Simpson?
