Many legends have graced Summoner's Rift over the years, with the obvious names of Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok leading the headlines in the east and Rasmus "Caps" Borregaard in the west. Pentakill after Pentakill, the veterans of League of Legends have illuminated the pinnacle stages of esports for nigh on a decade, and one player has now achieved a milestone to stand alone as one of the greatest professional players of all time.

Having first started his competitive League of Legends career in 2013 with MVP Blue, Korean-born Kim "Deft" Hyuk-kyu has now smashed yet another personal accolade, adding to his kill records in both of the LCK and LPL.

Deft Becomes First-Ever League of Legends Millennial

Operating in both of the most prominent regional League of Legends championships and making six Worlds appearances, Deft has now become the first-ever millennial, surpassing the 1,000 game milestone.

His second game for DRX in the LCK, versus Worlds runners-up DAMWON Kia, saw Deft play his thousandth game in a competitive setting, excluding any all-stars exhibitions, pipping Faker to the post. Although Deft became the first to reach the milestone, the Unkillable Demon has now also surpassed this benchmark feat, just eight games after Deft.

The outstanding milestone comes just a week after the 25-year-old notched up his 3000th kill in the LCK, as he still holds the crown for the only person to gather a millennium of kills in two regions.

Deft’s Personal Milestones in League of Legends Put Him In GOAT Contention

Despite never lifting the Summoners’ Cup, Deft is arguably in the top three for the greatest League of Legends players of all time. Held in high regard as the peak performer in scrims worldwide, Deft’s on-field displays has been nothing short of exceptional in his 9-year-long career.

Since first stepping onto the stage, Deft still holds the title for having the best win rate on a specific champion (over 40 games), ever. His 92% win rate with Jinx over 50 games has the pairing down as the most formidable duo in LoL esports history, eclipsing Jang "MaRin" Gyeong-hwan and Maokai (82.1%) and Hung "Karsa" Hau-Hsuan and Gragas (81.3%).

Only the World Championship eludes Deft now, who would likely love to get his hands on the missing piece to his trophy cabinet. Titles in the LCK, LPL, MSI, Rift Rivals, Demacia Cup, and Kespa Cup mean that he’s won every possible title that he could, except Worlds.

As the deadliest man in LoL; the beast in the east, Deft’s milestones will only continue until he has the bejewelled trophy in his hands.
