Modern Warfare 3 is finally here, and just as the base game warms up fans with the Campaign Early Release, the Call of Duty League is flying in to spark a fire under the competitive community.

The CDL 2024 Season Majors and schedule has now been revealed, with all the newly-branded organisations in Miami Heretics and Charlotte Royal Ravens both being among the hosts of this year's biggest events.

But in terms of Modern Warfare 3 and the Ranked gameplay, the CDL 2024 announcement has also confirmed the rulebook and game modes for the season, which will, as usual, be reflected in Ranked.

The CDL 2024 will continue the usual pattern of featuring three game modes, and the staples that are Hardpoint and Search and Destroy will be on display once again.

But the third game mode is always up for debate, and fans recently called for Capture the Flag to return, and there are always calls for a boots-on-the-ground Uplink variation to be made.

Now, the Call of Duty League has officially announced via press release that "the season will be played on Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Control game modes."

Of course, this means that Modern Warfare 3 Ranked will also play on Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Control, as the competitive playlist mimics the professional circuit in maps and modes.

With the game not being out yet, the map pool has yet to have been decided, although Ranked is set to be released at the halfway mark of Season 1 in the Reloaded update, giving players just a month to whittle down the starting maps.

Between now and then though, you will be able to get to grips with Control again in public lobbies starting on November 9, when the game launches in full. Watch your six!
