Just as Sledgehammer Games lifts the lid off Modern Warfare 3 with the Early Access campaign launch, the competitive Call of Duty community has been treated to a mouth-watering announcement.

The Call of Duty League is back for its fifth instalment, as 12 teams will look to get their hands on the elusive CDL Trophy, following in the footsteps of Dallas Empire, Atlanta FaZe, Los Angeles Thieves, and New York Subliners.

But before Champs rolls around, there's a whole season of sparring to roll your sleeves up for, and now the Call of Duty League revealed the Majors and schedule for the 2024 season.

Kicking off the Call of Duty League will be Boston Breach on December 8, as qualifiers for their January 25 Major will take us through the holiday season after we get a first taste of how the teams will match up.

"Our team entered last year with the goal of putting Boston on the map as an esports hub and the CDL’s amazing community did not let us down," said Oxygen Esports and Boston Breach Co-Founder Murph Jr Vandervelde in a press release.

"We look forward to shattering our attendance record again in 2024, creating an experience for the fans only Boston can offer," he added.

Then, the CDL will jet off to Miami as Heretics will play host to the League in March, in its first season after merging with Florida Mutineers.

Toronto Ultra will also host another Major in May as they take the third slot in the season, building on their previous successful ventures.

The exact location of both these Majors has yet to have been revealed, and speculation has arisen that they might be held outside of the respective states after Toronto Ultra Interim-CEO Adam Adamou claimed on social media that they could work together to bring the CDL back to Europe (Ultra's sister team Mad Lions and Heretics both have footholds in Spain).

Charlotte Royal Ravens will round off the Majors with their first tournament in four years, coming as soon as they leave London. Royal Ravens will host the final LAN Major on June 20-23, as the race for Champs will be at an all-time high.

Call of Duty League 2024 Schedule

This season, the online qualifiers will be changing in format, as the previous tally of five games per team, per qualifier, has now been extended to seven, adding an extra weekend of action.

Now, the entire calendar for the Call of Duty League 2024 season has been set in stone, kicking off on December 8, with the Regular Season continuing deep into the heart of June.

Major I – Boston Breach

  • December 8-January 21: Online Qualifiers
  • January 25-28: LAN Tournament at MGM Music Hall

Major II – Miami Heretics

  • February 16-March 17: Online Qualifiers
  • March 21-24: LAN Tournament

Major III – Toronto Ultra

  • April 12 – May 12: Online Qualifiers
  • May 16-19: LAN Tournament

Major IV – Carolina Royal Ravens

  • May 24-June 16: Online Qualifiers
  • June 20-23: LAN Tournament

The CDL 2024 World Championships dates and location has yet to have been confirmed.

As for any more format tweaks, the points system has also been adjusted in correlation to the extra two qualifying games, with more weight being placed on LAN finishes throughout the season. So far, it appears Champs will continue to only host eight teams.

See you December 8, as qualifiers for the Boston Breach Major will get underway.
