Call Of Duty: Warzone Keeps Sending Players To The Gulag Before They've Died

Although Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 has already become a huge hit and given a much-needed drop of new content to Infinity Ward's battle royale bloodbath, there's been a fair few problems since it went live on August 5. Now, some unlucky players are reporting they're dropping into the map, only to find themselves immediately transported to the Gulag and facing potential doom.

For those who aren't familiar with what the hell the Warzone Gulag is, it's sort of a last chance saloon for players. The first time you die in the main match, you're supposed to be transported to the Gulag and engage in a final fight to the death with another player. Whoever is victorious is popped back into the game, while the loser is given the boot. If you're sent to the Gulag straight away, there's a 50/50 chance that your entire game will be cut shockingly short.

Posting on Reddit, u/UnbanPod streamed their happy parachute down toward the quarry and straight into an area that was reasonably populated. Despite no shots being fired their way and not a shred of damage, the audio glitched, their screen went black, and UnbanPod landed an express ticket to the Warzone Gulag.

It's interesting to note they also weren't given armour plates, leading to a fellow player saying, "Something in the scripting had decided you were a Gulag-er before you even jumped". Oh great, just what we want to hear. Elsewhere, there were only 151 players dropped into action (instead of the usual 200), suggesting something weird was going on here.

Obviously, the Gulag isn't necessarily your final resting place in Warzone. Only recently, rapper T-Pain (yes, that T-Pain) popped by for a match of Warzone and found himself languishing in the Gulag. Things went from bad to worse when his match was screwed thanks to the weapon texture warp bug. Despite a moment of madness and screams of "What gun is this?", T-Pain managed to best his opponent and live to fight another day.

Put it this way, I wouldn't fancy my chances against T-Pain if I inadvertently get dropped straight in the Gulag. The advice with the latest glitch is to keep an eye on player numbers and to check on your inventory. If you don't land with armour plates, chances are the Gulag is gonna come a-knockin'.
