Halloween is always an exciting time to be a Call of Duty fan, with past events across Warzone and multiplayer setting a high bar for the spooky season.

Whether it's terrifying cosmetics, incredible crossovers, or creepy map overhauls set at night, Halloween never fails to add a fresh coat of paint to the typical gameplay loop, especially on Warzone.

Activision has seemingly delivered again with The Haunting, receiving overwhelming praise from the community. The Vondead map has even been celebrated as one of the "best things Warzone has ever done," so it's certainly made an impression.

CoD fans celebrate Warzone's "amazing" Vondead map

Taking to Twitter, popular Call of Duty account TheGhostOfHope shared that, in their opinion, the Vondead map is "one of the best things Warzone has ever done."

This sparked a discussion about the Halloween location, with fans agreeing that the map has an immense amount of creepy details. Not only that, the impressive skybox has left a lot of competitors speechless during their matches.

"Literally, the map plays and looks so good," said one user, with another claiming, "They went so hard on the zombies theme on the map [Vondead] compared to Al Mazrah, a lot more signs around the map, Survivor settlements with walls, the bloody circle as the storm Pool... It’s so good."

Others were just "pleasantly surprised" about how much effort went into Vondead, and hope to see this level of detail in future updates.

Other CoD players are a little less impressed with Vondead

Of course, there were a few critics in the crowd who weren't entirely satisfied with Vondead and the gameplay it offers in Warzone. One point of frustration comes in the form of visibility, with some competitors arguing visibility is poor due to the low light.

Another is the "trash" campers that are apparently sitting on rooftops all game during every single Vondead match, which is frustrating some fans. Apart from that, Vondead appears to have knocked it out of the park and set an unbelievably high bar for next Halloween. It's hard to know how they're going to top it.
