There are quite a few similarities to how fast food chains and gaming businesses compete with one another, and just as Call of Duty is causing ripples between Xbox and Sony, the gaming franchise has also put a pickle between Mcdonald's and Burger King.

After seeing a photoshop job that depicted the 1993 Doom title running on a modern McDonald's self-service kiosk go viral, Burger King decided that this was the inspiration that they needed to get a deal over the line with Call of Duty.

Kicking on from the pre-existing deal with Modern Warfare 2, which saw the fast food giant launch a CoD-themed whopper meal, Burger King has now turned their kiosks into a Call of Duty LAN.

Dubbed "Kiosk of Duty," Burger King has installed Modern Warfare 2 onto their own Kiosks in selected branches, where hungry customers can also babble in a unique special mission.

Created by David New York, the partnership will give players free food if they complete the mission, including a free Call of Duty whopper burger and chips.

The partnership details back to the original Modern Warfare 2 title, where Burger Town was the hub of a campaign mission, although this is unlikely to have been the challenge in the kiosks themselves.

Kiosk Of Duty Creator Surprised At the Success Of The Partnership

"We made this campaign an immersive experience, allowing Burger King lovers and gamers alike to test out Call of Duty’s new game in a fun, interactive way,” said Andre Toledo, chief creative offer at David New York, according to Adweek.

He added, "Only with these two bold brands could you create something so special for fans of both brands, which is quite a large overlap. The customer reaction exceeded expectations and surprised us all."

The Kiosk of Duty was only launched in Spain and France, but with the success of the campaign so far, you might expect to see Call of Duty on some of your local Burger King screens soon.
