Oh what a surprise, there's another wild Bloodborne rumour doing the rounds. Well, we wouldn't be rounding off 2023 without one, would we?

You might remember when we all got hyped for a Bloodborne announcement at The Game Awards, but as Geoff Keigley's showcase came and went, we realised we'd been duped. It's time to get your hopes up and ready to be dashed... again.

Is A Bloodborne Remake On The Way?

As spotted by GamesRadar, Bluepoint Games is teasing its next project. Of course, Bluepoint is remembered as the studio behind remakes like Uncharted: The Nathan Drake CollectionShadow of the Colossus, and Demon's Souls.

Away from assisting on 2022's God of War Ragnarok, Bluepoint's last solo adventure was Demon's Souls in 2020. Could another FromSoftware favourite be next on the card?

The developer's Christmas card has four presents, with the first three honouring Shadow of the Colossus, Demon's Souls, and Ragnarok. The fourth is currently unopened - which has thrown the doors open to wild speculation.

"Please let there be a god. Bloodborne, Bloodborne, Bloodborne, Bloodborne, Bloodborne," wrote one hopeful gamer. Someone more certain wrote, "Bloodborne is on the way boys!"

Debunking the idea, one sceptic added, "Won't happen anytime soon. What I read about it that BB has a very strange code and only From Software itself could understand it." Someone else concluded, "Bloodborne doesn't need a remake, just a 60fps patch."

Could Bluepoint Remaster Metal Gear Solid?

In terms of other mythical remakes, one eagle-eyed fan spotted that the colour of the presents match Metal Gear Solid. It's baffling that Konami's seminal stealth game lies untouched as rumours of a MGS remake do the rounds almost as much as Bloodborne

Someone said, "Here's hoping it's a Metal Gear Solid remake but we all know Konami wouldn't allow it," while another added, "Probably metal gear considering how much leaks have been surrounding that series... bet there's gonna be aā—ļøabove the box."

If Bluepoint is working on MGS, that would be some Hideo Kojia-inspired level of cryptic teasing. We'll have to wait and see what the developer has up its sleeve, but to be honest, it could simply be a Christmas card we're all reading into too much.
