The Call of Duty franchise is well known for having some of the best player versus zombies game modes and maps ever made. From Kino Der Toten to Der Riese, Activision and Treyarch have blessed fans with hauntingly fantastic zombies maps in the past, allowing players to fight through waves of the undead and handle exclusive weapons such as the Ray Gun, Thundergun, and the Wunderwaffe.

After a year out during the Modern Warfare age, Call of Duty Zombies is back, with Treyarch's Black Ops Cold War.

Here's everything you need to know about the worldwide reveal of Black Ops Cold War Zombies...

Zombies in Black Ops Cold War have been rebooted, but will still feature easter eggs from previous games. Activision claims that players will be able to react to the storyline in a varied amount of ways, and the player will interact with various characters in both Requiem and Omega Force, including a KGB mole named Sam.

The game mode will also be cross-play and cross-platform. You can find out more in the above video that was released on the official Call Of Duty Twitter. As well as free confirmed post-launch content, Activision has revealed the open beta will take place on October 8, first on PS4, and then later rolled out to further consoles.

Players also will gain a persistent battle pass shared across Warzone, traditional Multiplayer, and Zombies. Your loadouts will come over between modes, too.

Anyone joining in on the Black Ops Cold War zombie experience will also have plenty of combat options outside of weaponry. You'll be able to set and deploy Field Upgrades after building up your meter by killing zombies leading to a varying level of effects that range from buffs to healing or stealth. When things get tough out there on the field, the player will be able to craft three varieties of equipment: lethal, tactical, and support.

Lethal includes multiplayer weapons like frag grenades, and support is high-powered offensive options like grenade launchers. Juggernog and Speed Cola Perks are returning along with many other fan-favourites.

And if you get too swarmed by zombies, you can get out with a new Exfil option. That will severely increase the zombie threat while you make it to the chopper, but if you can escape, you'll get rewarded.

Black Ops Cold War lands on November 13.
