There could be trouble ahead for Call of Duty, as disgruntled gamers have already found a potentially massive problem with snipers in Black Ops 6. Treyarch has spent four years perfecting 2024's CoD offering, but as the two beta weekends have shown, there are still a few kinks that need ironing out.
The whole point of a beta is to check what is and isn't working, but away from complaints about map sizes and even threats of a boycott, it's proved to be a record-breaking success. With over a month to go until Black Ops 6 hits the trenches, players have spotted a potential problem with snipers.

Over on YouTube, FaZe Scope has been getting to grips with those sharp-shooting snipers. Although he has plenty of praise for snipers, he's among those who've noticed something feels a little 'off' with scopes. Noting the return of an early issue that plagued Modern Warfare 3, it seems sniper crosshairs aren't currently centred in BO6.
As FaZe Scope notes, everything is a little wobbly as snipers struggle to centre. He points out that in previous games, your natural aim automatically centres, whereas fellow player @Elyte96 has done an overlay video with Black Ops Cold War, MW3, and Black Ops 6.
The September 1 tweet explains how things feel 'floaty' on mouse and keyboard, with FaZe Scope highlighting similar issues. Scope says, "The reticle itself, when you kill somebody, even kind of moves all over the place. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but it seems like it makes everything super wobbly."
He points out how Modern Warfare 3 adjusted its own wobbly scopes a couple of months into its lifecycle, fixing the 'true' centre of the screen. FaZe Scope says that if this can be ported over to Black Ops 6, it will fix a lot of the complaints with snipers.
Others have reiterated this issue isn't exclusively a problem for MnK players OR snipers. All scoped weapons are suffering with the same wobbly crosshair. Some in the comments suggest it could be deliberate, pointing out how Black Ops 1 did the same, potentially as a way to prevent quickscoping.
Another disappointed player said, "This also affects controller players, hope they fix it cause snipers are my second favourite weapon class," while someone else added, "The problem isn't scopes. The problem is all the f**king maps are so tiny you can't snipe. This is just quickscoping and shouldn't be in the game anyway."
Some have said that it's a skill issue and that this feature adds to the realism of Black Ops 6, but if MW3 tweaked it, there's every chance the devs will tackle it again. Whether Treyarch will fix scopes remains to be seen, but let's be honest, it probably has bigger fish to fry right now.
