Treyarch once broke the mould in Call of Duty by introducing Operators who all had different specialist abilities.
These additional boosts would see characters in Black Ops 3 and 4 all have varying degrees of individual skill and add much-needed personality to the series.
But after ditching Specialists in Cold War in favour of more realistic gameplay, Treyarch is reportedly running it back in Black Ops 6. Kind of.
Black Ops 6 is set to have 'game-changing' Specialists perks
According to the massive wave of leaks which has seemingly bared almost all of the game's secrets, Black Ops 6 is bringing back Specialist Perks, albeit with a twist.
The leaks claim that there will be three Specialist Perks, neither of which will be correlated to Operators but rather just extra slots in the Gunsmith.
The three Perks have been leaked to be: Enforcer, which buffs movement speed and health regen rate after kills; Recon, which shows enemies through walls after respawning and hides enemy death-skulls; and Strategist, where bonuses for objectives apply to streaks.
"They're game-changing," says the popular Call of Duty account Modern Warzone.
The three perks will likely come as another Gunsmith slot, similar to how Black Ops 2 has Wildcards, which will see effects be added on top of the usual three perks and your weapon attachments.
Reports also claim that you can only unlock these Specialist abilities by equipping standard perks with the same colour. For instance, Enforcer will be tagged as red, and each Perk slot will also have a range of red-tagged perks, which you will need to have equipped in order to achieve the bonuses.
This leaves the Specialist perks optional - you won't need them, but if you master a certain style, you'll reap the rewards.
