Damn, that old Rick guy really can't catch a break.
The geezer has gone from being hunted by starving and mutated dead people, to entering Modern Warfare 3 and being slaughtered by starting and mutated Call of Duty fans, the latter of which is much worse than the other.
But some of the gnarling from the CoD fans has seemingly been unjustified, as Activision has now debunked the biggest criticism of them all.
Activision reportedly confirms Andrew Lincoln is Rick Grimes in MW3
The biggest gripe with the Modern Warfare 3 version of Rick Grimes is the audio lines. Many players have called out the publishers, claiming that Grimes isn't portrayed by his actual actor Andrew Lincoln and rather the voice quips are pulled from the series or re-recorded by an "intern".
However, popular content creator "Detonated" has now claimed that they have had confirmation from Activision itself that Andrew Lincoln recorded the voice lines for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.
"Lotta people just now realizing Andrew Lincoln is a British man doing a southern accent, it’s not always gonna come out perfect, but it’s him," said another fan on the post, pointing out that its probably been some time since Lincoln strapped on Grimes' boots, having seen The Walking Dead end last year.
Rick Grimes is out of the pan and into the fire in Call of Duty
Despite this though, Modern Warfare 3 fans have found a new axe to grind with The Walking Dead protagonist.
Instead of the voice, they've now taken aim at his appearance, mocking his BlackCell Operator skin.
Poor Grimes probably just wants to get down to the shooting range for a laugh and to share a glass of juggernog with Michonne, rather than be mocked at every turn.
Maybe now he can get back to what he does best: shooting undead.
