MW3 fans are tired of 'uninspired' BlackCell skins that all look the same

Modern Warfare 3 fans are tired of the "uninspired" designs of the BlackCell Operator skins that all seem to look the same.

If you're not satisfied with the standard Battle Pass in Modern Warfare 3, Sledgehammer Games has an elevated tier that can be purchased, which offers even more cosmetics.

We're talking about BlackCell, the premium reward track that provides those willing to pay with a series of exclusive Operator skins.

Since BlackCell's inception, these skins have followed the same black and gold formula. While received well at first, CoD players are growing tired of these "uninspired" cosmetics.

Considering how much they're paying to get their hands on them, the community want the devs to make more of an effort with BlackCell and is (once again) disappointed with the Season 2 rewards.

MW3 players demand Activision rework the BlackCell designs

Taking to the ModernWarfareIII subreddit, user PrototypeXt3 decided to voice their frustration over the "awful" BlackCell designs and have claimed they're "sick of the black and gold theme."

For them, the boring colour scheme and "dumb effects" result in the "laziest" possible creations that give them no motivation to buy cosmetics anymore. It's safe to say they're not alone in this opinion, with countless fans calling on Activision and Sledgehammer to rework the formula.

"They gotta get rid of the gold nonsense every season, It's beyond old, take my 40 bucks... I'm sick of the gold though," said one user, with another arguing, "Let's be honest, this whole Blackcell BP is terrible."

The request to "mix it up" is seen all across the thread, with players confused as to why the devs are so keen on keeping the black and gold theme every single season.

Call of Duty fans argue not buying BlackCell will force them to "change"

In terms of solutions, there's one that's more popular than any other, and that's simply fans encouraging others not to "waste your money on this garbage."

In their opinion, a drop in sales is the only way any "change" is going to take place in the long term and force Activision to make adjustments.

However, very few players are convinced this is possible, as they believe "people will buy it anyways because there's an option to do so."

With Season 2 once again bringing black and gold, we'll have to see what future updates bring to the table for BlackCell. However, don't expect any credit for guessing what colour scheme the devs are going to choose.
