We have now had our first look at what we can expect from UFC 5, including when the game will be released and much more. We haven’t had a new UFC game since 2020, but after three years the series is back - and it looks better than ever.

The latest edition of the game will be the first to be built in the Frostbite engine. The Frostbite engine is what many EA games are made with, including Dead Space, FC 24, and Star Wars Battlefront 2 among others.

Here is everything you need to know about UFC 5 when it releases later this year.

It may come as a surprise to many, but UFC 5 is actually coming out later this year on October 27. That means we will only have to wait just over a month from the reveal of the game before we can actually get our hands on it and start playing.

What platforms is UFC 5 releasing on?

UFC 5 will not be released on previous-gen consoles, meaning it will only be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. This decision comes due to some of the advancements in the game, like it being locked to 60 FPS during fights, meaning the fighting is as fluid and accurate as possible. Here are all the platforms UFC 5 is releasing on:

We haven’t seen too much of the gameplay so far, and as we near release we should get a much clearer idea of what we can expect. For now, we still know enough to get excited about it.

We have already mentioned how the game will now be locked at 60 FPS, but one of the most striking changes is how the appearance of the fighters has been overhauled.

Moving over to the Frostbite Engine means the fighters appear in much more detail, with this also being the first-ever EA Sports title to feature fully strand-based hair throughout the game. Damage on fighters has also been overhauled with new facial animations and cuts, bruising and swelling all getting a makeover.

When it comes to game modes, the most exciting addition will be the heavily demanded Online Career Mode. Now, you can take your created fighters online and take on other players.

UFC 5 trailers

We haven’t had many trailers for the game so far. What we have seen has shown off the cover stars of the game, as well as a good look at the graphical overhaul of the gameplay and the pre-order bonuses also coming soon.

We will learn much more about UFC 5 between now and the release, but if you can’t wait for that, make sure you check out our interview with the developers. For everything else, give our UFC 5 homepage a read.
