Is there a release window for The Outer Worlds 2?

As of this current point in time, there is no release window information for The Outer Worlds 2. The first game only came out in October 2019 so expecting The Outer Worlds 2 in the near future may be ambitious, but given the reveal happened back at E3 2021, we're expecting to hear some more news about the upcoming sci-fi RPG soon.

Another thing to consider is that Obsidian, the developer behind The Outer Worlds games, is currently in the process of creating another huge project in the form of Avowed, which will certainly eat up a fair amount of their development too.

We will make sure to update this guide whenever any new information drops regarding the release of The Outer Worlds 2 though, so make sure to check back here regularly.

Are there any The Outer Worlds 2 trailers?

There is just one trailer revealed so far for The Outer Worlds 2, which was released in June 2021 at the E3 presentation during a joint press conference with Microsoft and Bethesda. Although short, The Outer Worlds 2 trailer managed to hold its own amongst the other titans in the show, thanks to its cinematic and hilariously honest trailer.

The "old, wise-sounding voice" narrator of the trailer describes the clip accurately. Its comic tone perfectly pays homage to the dialogue seen in the original game: "Suddenly, and for no reason, people running. These pointless slow-motion shots make everything seem cool and should bolster pre-sale numbers."

The clip went on to show an "epic shot" of the game's world in all its electric blue glory. Of course, as with any sci-fi-themed game or film, there are a lot of lens flares. The narrator goes on to say that there isn't much else to share in terms of the game's story or gameplay, but one thing that is completely finished is the intergalactic title.

What characters are in The Outer Worlds 2?

While there are no explicit details regarding the new or returning characters in The Outer Worlds 2 so far, the trailer did provide fans with a brief glimpse of the game's hero via their silhouette as they gazed upon the grand rocky landscape of the new world. However, we didn't get much else because, as the narrator explains: "The developers haven't finished the design."

As for monsters, the trailer included a look at a rock-strewn, purple-veined monster who roars into the face of viewers. Although, the creature's appearance in the game itself is left questionable by the narrator.

No doubt The Outer Worlds players out there will be anxious to see the return of beloved fan favourite Parvati Holcomb. Yet, the official Twitter page for The Outer Worlds shared that the game will feature a "new star system" as well as a "new crew". Sadly, this means that Parvati is unlikely to return.

Is The Outer Worlds 2 an Xbox platform exclusive?

To the dismay of any PlayStation die-hards, The Outer Worlds 2 will be an Xbox platform exclusive. The news was met with a lot of disappointment from fans of the original game, as it was available on both the PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Of course, the fact that Obsidian was acquired by Microsoft in November 2018 has played a bit part in this, as the technology giant will likely want to keep all of the games from their own studios within the Xbox ecosystem.

It is also confirmed to be a day one title for Xbox Game Pass, so if you're subscribed to the service you'll be able to jump straight in at release for no extra cost, which is fantastic news.

We will let you know if this does change in the future though, so keep your eyes peeled on this page for any more updates.

Will The Outer Worlds 2 be on PC?

Yes, as while the game is tied to Xbox console exclusivity, Microsoft has promised to release all of its first-party games onto PC in some form, so that does give an additional route of play for anyone who doesn't own one of the two Xbox Series consoles.

This could of course change as the game is still presumably a long way from its release, but this is the current state of things at this point in time.

So, that wraps up everything we know about The Outer Worlds 2, giving you all of the latest details and updates for the upcoming intergalactic adventure.
