Ryu has been the poster boy for the Street Fighter series since the first game’s release in 1987. He has been a series mainstay ever since and was even added to the Super Smash Bros. roster, cementing his legacy as a fighting game tour-de-force.

In the case of Street Fighter 6, Ryu is at his peak. A master fighter travelling the world in search of worthy opponents. This is in keeping with his meticulous training and intense focus on becoming the greatest fighter of all time in previous entries.

In Street Fighter 6, Ryu is a jack-of-all-trades, with a mix of close-quarters combat and ranged abilities that are difficult for opponents to avoid. He is the most consistent character to get to grips with from the start.

While the ranged attacks are great for chipping away at opponents, his melee combos are a force to be reckoned with, so committing them to memory (or, of course, having his combo list to hand) is essential.

That’s everything you need to know about Ryu in Street Fighter 6. With his vast selection of combat moves and iconic status, he will surely be a firm favourite for any player.
