The recently announced Marvel Rivals is a hero-based shooter featuring plenty of fan-favourite characters from Marvel Comics - however, one character who isn’t quite as popular is the relatively new character Luna Snow.

The trailer shows off characters ranging from the infamous villain Loki to Spider-Man, Iron Man and more. You will be able to use one of the characters in a team-based shooter (think Overwatch) alongside your teammates who are also playing as popular Marvel characters. Not much else is known about the game, and after seeing the reveal it left me with a few questions, including: who even is Luna Snow?

Luna Snow is a Korean superhero called Seol Hee and is part of the in-universe K-pop group 4L1T, where her nickname is Luna. In pretty standard superhero fashion she was involved in an accident with a cold fusion reactor that gave her Cryokinetic abilities (the power to manipulate and generate ice, a bit like Frozone from The Incredibles).

The character was first introduced in the 2019 War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas comic run that relied on a lot of lesser-known characters, as well as introducing plenty of fresh faces. Also featured in this team-up event were Ms Marvel, Shang Chi and Silk to name but a few. The heroes need to protect the Pacific Rim out in the Pacific Ocean, so Luna Snow's introduction coincided with a lot of other Asian heroes being introduced.

Since then, she's not made too many appearances elsewhere, but Marvel Rivals promises a varied cast of characters which Luna Snow highlights and hopefully means the roster will continue to include lesser-known characters who deserve some of the limelight.

All we have to go off so far is one trailer, but in that trailer, we get to see a healthy amount of what we can expect from this character. Most of all, she will dart around the map with her ice abilities. In the comics, she has control over ice but can either use it offensively or to heal other characters, which makes me think she will be a support character.

There is a moment in the trailer where she is using an ability that injects ice energy into another player - this could potentially be a buff but we will have to wait and see. To compare Rivals to Overwatch, she could function like a combination of Lucio and Moira thanks to her mobility and powers, but we will have to wait and see.

That’s all you need to know about Luna Snow for now, if you’d like to know anything else about Marvel Rivals we have outlined everything we know so far on our release hub.
