Magic: The Gathering Bloomburrow release date, cards, mechanics & Commander Decks

Bloomburrow is the next Magic: The Gathering expansion in 2024, taking players to a world of anthropomorphic animals where no humans dwell. 

Squirrels, frogs, mice, rabbits, and more are the champions here, and they must band together to fight calamity beasts and the Great Night Owl as Bloomburrow kicks off the Dragonstorm story arc.

The Bloomburrow expansion for Magic: The Gathering is set for an August 2, 2024 release date. It's currently the latest confirmed expansion for the year, meaning it may be the one to see out 2024.

As part of our preview, we learned about the following mechanics:

• Offspring - Use mana to create 1/1 copies of a card
• Gift - Promise an opponent a gift to reap rewards of your own
• Expend - Spend a certain amount of mana to recover some life.
• Forage - Exile cards or spend food tokens to trigger effects.
• Threshold - Threshold triggers effects when you have the required number of cards in your graveyard.

Modal spells return, too, with their cost determined by pawprints.
