The God of War Ragnarok release date is now known to the public, and as one of the most highly anticipated titles of 2022, fans will rejoice at being able to play it come November. The sequel to God of War, and one of the PS4's greatest achievements, Santa Monica Studio's next project could be even better than the original game. A lot of details about God of War Ragnarok are still up in the air, but as the release edges closer - we have discovered more. Here's everything we know about the sequel that could change everything for Kratos and Atreus, including the God of War Ragnarok release date, gameplay, trailers, and more.

God of War Ragnarok Release Date

The release date for God of War Ragnarök was confirmed as November 9, 2022 in early July. There was a lot of speculation that the game would be pushed back to 2023 due to the lack of release date news during Summer Game Fest, but the promises of 2022 have officially come to fruition.

God Of War Ragnarok Trailers

We haven't had a trailer for the game since it very first arrived in that massive State of Play conference - but it's thought that the game will reappear in a rumoured new conference coming in February.

The first trailer offered a fascinating insight into the game, though, and it still makes for great assessment even now.

God of War Ragnarok Gameplay

The gameplay of Ragnarok is expected to be pretty similar to that of the first game, safe for a few differences - including a dramatic slam attack that has been seen for the first time in the first trailer of the game.

The narrative of the game is set to follow Kratos and Atreus attempting to stop Ragnarok, all the while being tailed by Freya after the events of the last game (no spoilers here, don't worry).

So far, the only console that we've had confirmation for regarding Ragnarok is the PlayStation 5. There's every chance that it could later come to PC just as the first game recently did, but it's safe to assume that it will be a PS5 exclusive for some time.

A lot of players are frustrated that the game hasn't announced its arrival on PS4, but it could end up ditching last-gen consoles altogether. If the demands of the game warrant it, it makes sense - but we'll have to wait and see if it ends up coming to PS4.

That's all we know about God of War Ragnarok so far - we can't wait to see what's next for Kratos and Atreus, let alone to get our hands on it. Looking forward to another huge title this year? Read all about the Starfield release date.
