With the best Genshin Impact Mona builds, we've got the weapons and artifacts you can use on Mona to attain DPS, Sub-DPS, and pure Support builds. Mona is a five-star Hydro element user from Mondstadt whose weapon of choice is a Catalyst, and she's one of the must-have characters as she plays an important role in the game's lore, protecting the Traveler from the Sixth Harbinger of the Fatui, Scaramouche. We have many Genshin Impact enthusiasts who either have Mona or are going to wish for her on the permanent or timed-exclusive banners. For such players, the best Genshin Impact Mona build guide will help a lot as you'll find a complete breakdown of Mona's abilities and Constellations, along with some of the best team compositions for Mona.

Like any other Genshin Impact playable character, Mona has three attack types; Normal Attack called Ripple of Fate, Elemental Skill, Mirror Reflection of Doom, and the Elemental Burst, Stellaris Phantasm. Each of these attack types is Hydro in nature.

The Normal Attack has three different forms. The first form is the basic normal attack, where Mona performs four water splash attacks dealing Hydro DMG. The second form is charged attack that you perform by holding the attack button for a few seconds. It consumes stamina, but it deals AoE Hydro DMG. The last form is a plunge attack that you can perform by pressing the attack button in mid-air to deal AoE Hydro DMG.

Mona's Elemental Skill, Mirror Reflection of Doom, creates a Phantom of Fate from coalesced waterspouts that has the following special properties:

  • Taunts nearby opponents to agro them
  • Deals a continuous AoE Hydro DMG to nearby opponents
  • Exploding when the Phantom of Fate duration expired, dealing AoE Hydro DMG

The Elemental Skill, Mirror Reflection of Doom, also has a hold version where Mona utilizes the water currents to move backward before conjuring the Phantom of Fate.

Mona's Elemental Burst ability, Stellaris Phantasm, summons sparkling waves and creates a reflection of the starry sky, applying the Illusory Bubble status to opponents in a large AoE. The attack not only applies Wet elemental status on opponents, but it also applies debuffs in the form of a special effect called Omen.

When you attack opponents under the effects of Illusory Bubble, you apply Omen status to them, giving you a DMG bonus while increasing the DMG of the attack that triggered the Omen effect. After that, when the Illusory Bubble effect is gone, the opponent is inflicted with Hydro DMG during the removal process.

Mona has six Constellations that you can unlock by obtaining a duplicate copy of Mona from the Wanderlust Invocation banner or from any character event wish banner. When you get a copy of Mona, you get Mona's Stella FortunaYou can use it in the Constellations tab to unlock her Constellations order-wise.

How many Constellations should you unlock on Mona?

If you want to build Mona as a Support, which you can as she is an S-Tier support character, you can unlock C1 Mona. However, if you want to use Mona as a DPS unit, you can go for C2 Mona or for C6 Mona, depending on your budget and Primogems planning.

That aside, here are all six Constellations of Mona listed order-wise:

  • Prophecy of Submersion - When any of your own party members hit an opponent affected by an Omen, the effects of Hydro-related Elemental Reactions are enhanced for 8s:
  • Electro-Charged DMG increases by 15%.
  • Vaporize DMG increases by 15%.
  • Hydro Swirl DMG increases by 15%.
  • Frozen duration is extended by 15%.
  • Lunar Chain - When a Normal Attack hits, there is a 20% chance that it will be automatically followed by a Charged Attack. This effect can only occur once every 5s.
  • Restless Revolution - Increases the Level of Stellaris Phantasm by 3. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
  • Prophecy of Oblivion - When any party member attacks an opponent affected by an Omen, their CRIT Rate is increased by 15%.

Best Genshin Impact Mona Builds: DPS, Sub-DPS, And Support

Mona is one of the best Support characters in Genshin Impact who can amplify an attack DMG by a lot. And, since she is a Catalyst user, you can even make use of weapons like the Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers to maximize her Support potential. On the other hand, Mona can also act as a DPS and Sub-DPS unit as her Hydro DMG scalings are great. If you use the correct weapons and artifacts, you can achieve any of the three mentioned builds with Mona.

The four-star Catalyst, Widsith, is the best weapon for Mona that can work on any of her builds. If you want to equip Mona with a five-star weapon - we recommend the Skyward Atlas as it increases Mona's ATK% by 33.1%, whilst the weapon skill further increases ATK and Elemental DMG by a decent amount.
