Getting your hands on Lump's War Horn in Baldur's Gate 3 can be a great help in tricky fights, but finding the map location and knowing exactly how it works can be quite the mystery.

While your companions will help you the most directly in Baldur's Gate 3, there are some special forces that you can call on to aid you if a battle is proving a little too difficult. The feature is not unlocked by default though, so you will need to do some exploring in the game.

Thankfully we've done the hard work for you, so continue reading to find out more about Lump's War Horn, including its map location and how it works.

Where can you find Lump's War Horn?

Lump's War Horn can be found in a shack on the western side of Blighted Village, at the map coordinates X:15 Y:380. To pick up the horn you will need to speak to Lump the Enlightened and recruit his services through a number of different means.

If you've not been to Blighted Village yet it can be found directly to the west of the Emerald Grove Environs waypoint, after traveling across the bridge. You will need to find your way around the goblins that infest the village though, so try and be as non-hostile as possible.

Once you reach Lump the Enlighened and his two ogre friends, you will want to speak to them and once again try and remain as non-hostile as possible. You should eventually reach a point where he asks you to make him an offer to recruit his services. There will be four dialogue options to choose from:

  • Give him 500 gold
  • Give him 1,000 gold - but only after he fights for you (Deception skill check)
  • Pay him in the flesh of the fallen (Persuasion skill check)
  • Rescind your offer

500 gold is obviously quite a lot - especially if you meet him early on in your journey, so going for one of the two skill check options is preferable. We chose the Persuasion skill check and it required a whopping 20 to pass, so it is likely that the Deception check is of a similar difficulty too.

Once you pass any of the checks - or just pay the 500 gold up front - you will get Lump's War Horn and be able to summon the band of ogres in combat.

As soon as the fight is finished though Lump will engage you once again, demanding that a new deal has to be struck. This leaves you with four dialogue options and a new skill check to pass if you wish to recruit him again:

  • Pay 500 gold upfront
  • End the deal
  • Offer to pay after the next fight (Deception skill check)
  • Attack Lump and his friends

The deception skill check will increase in funds the more that you use it, but do remember that if the skill check fails you will have to face the wrath of an angry ogre who wants a fair amount of coin.

So, that's everything you need to know about Lump's War Horn in Baldur's Gate 3, showing you how to use it and where you can pick it up in the game.
