In a hugely dramatic day for FaZe Clan's Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) side, Janko "YNk" Paunovic has announced that he is stepping down as their coach following the departure of Nikola "NiKo" Kovač.

Janko explained that he is stepping down alongside NiKo to allow the side to move forward with a new coach and in-game leader after multiple "recurring issues" have cropped up on and off the field over the last couple of months.

In a Twitlonger, YNk states: "Today I'm announcing my decision to step down as coach of FaZe Clan. For a while now the team has been struggling with some recurring issues in and out of the game which I've done my best to try and amend but unfortunately without much success.

"Because of this, I feel that the best way to move forward is for the team and myself to part ways and, with NiKo going to G2, give the players and the organisation the opportunity to get a new coach and IGL who can work on taking the team forward".

The former FaZe Clan coach then continued to thank the organisation, staff, and players as he ends his 20-month period with the team.

FaZe have now lost two of their most vocal leaders of the CS:GO scene, leaving them with just four players on the roster. Håvard "rain" Nygaard remains as the longest-serving player on FaZe after joining in 2016, and will supposedly take the reigns in finding a new coach and entry-fragger. With Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye joining just a matter of months ago, FaZe will now need to quickly reform their roster before any more damage can be caused.

The legend that is Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer Gustafsson also remains as an inactive member of the roster, meaning we could also see him return to the scene as either a coach or a temporary fifth member.
