The final hour of Warzone is upon us and as Caldera begins to burn, players are enjoying using whatever niches they can find in the game to have a little bit of fun. But it seems like Call of Duty devs don't like fun.

Having seen the rise of the Crossbow emerge towards the end of Season 4, the one-shot-kill weapon replaced snipers, despite being much harder to use.

It appeared that the satisfaction of getting a team wipe with the Crossbow's explosive tips was worth the grind to get used to the velocity and arrow trajectory. However, it's now been nerfed for Season 5, much to the distaste of many of its users.

Crossbow Nerfed For Warzone Season 5

Going into Warzone Season 5, the developers have opted to brutally nerf the crossbow, meaning that it is no longer a one-shot-kill at all ranges at all times, the one and only selling point of the weapon.

The nerfs reduced the damage multiplier to the lower torso, and limbs (both upper and lower arms, hands, and wrists), leaving the gun only viable if a connection is made to the chest or above.

While these nerfs would be standard for a sniper, the crossbow doesn't excel in accuracy, given its trajectory arch, making aiming for headshots quite an impossibility. Unfortunately, unless you're some sort of Joffrey Baratheon cult creature, the crossbow is pretty useless.

Fans Angry At Warzone Crossbow Nerfs

With the nerfs rolled out, fans are now furious at the developers for ripping out one of the only elements of fun that the game had to offer in its dying weeks.

Taking to Reddit, fans quickly pointed out that this isn't the developers' first time ruining the fun either. "So f**king annoying man. They've nerfed all the fun weapons. Melee, RPGs, C4, shotguns, snipers, now crossbows...", said one fan in particular.

The only silver lining for long-time players of Warzone is that the meta has come full circle, and in an honorary fashion to the golden age, the Grau is once again the best gun in the game.

Instead of flashy trick shots, you might have to dig out the Grau and enjoy a blast from the past before Warzone is gone forever.
