VALORANT players are worried AI bots are getting too smart

Some VALORANT fans are concerned that enemy AI is simply too good, as one video has revealed the very human abilities of bots.

The conversation of AI in video games has only just ramped up, but probably not in the way you'd expect it to - now, it's even infected VALORANT

AI foes in video games are nothing new, but it's AI generated assets going into video games that are creating a stir, accidentally giving enemy AI in games a bad name by being tarred by the same brush.

Still, it seems fears of AI becoming too advanced have struck the video game industry, as players are concerned that they're getting too realistic and bots are learning too quickly. It's a real Terminator scenario.

VALORANT fans especially are starting to get nervous, as they're concerned that AI is now so good enemy computer characters are mimicking very human traits in-game.

A new video has been shared to the VALORANT subreddit, showing off an AI enemy acting strangely for a non-player character. Pulling off tricks the average VALORANT player might struggle with, a bot is seen peeking around corners just as any human would do.

Others have been taken aback by this video, pointing out that this was a tactic that human players had created, meaning it's bizarre to see the computer do this itself. The machines, we warned you they'd be learning.

One VALORANT player joked, "KAY/O origin story," while another added, "That happened to me, scared the sh*t outta me.." A third explained, "Yh hardmode bots a) learn from previous games b) can play off sound c)if they cant diffuse they save."

Hard mode AI are lethal in VALORANT

This has shocked many, but frankly, it's probably been programmed into the game by Riot Games themselves. The skill ceiling for VALORANT is tall, and the team has likely made efforts to try to make enemy players unoccupied by other players more lifelike. It's better than the usual bumbling bots we face.

You'd think that the devs might just make their reflexes a little better with each level, but this is a testament to the team's clear attention to detail. If that was the plan, there's no doubt that Riot Games has done a great job. Even if it scares the hell out of us, at least VALORANT has made its AI feel formidable.
