The First Starfield Trailer In Four Months Just Dropped
Starfield has been a long time coming, and fans have been desperate to have a poke around in its expansive world. In many ways, the game is set to topple even the mighty Skyrim in terms of size and scale, and though Xbox might have dibs on it, fans cannot wait to see what lies in store in the nooks and crannies of the spacefaring adventure.
Despite this, though, it’s been a hot minute since we’ve had a look at the game.
It has been four months since our last big look at the game, and we’ve been long overdue another glimpse at its expansive worlds - luckily, a new trailer is here to guide us through the narrative backbone of what could be Xbox greatest achievement in years.
New Starfield Trailer Reveals Concept Art And Story Beats
A new unlisted trailer has been discovered on the Bethesda Softworks YouTube channel that reveals some of the narrative threads that Starfield is built on, and it implies some very exciting things for the story of the game.
Emil Pagliarulo, Bethesda’s design director, introduces the audience to The Settled Systems, and offers them the context for Starfield’s galaxy.
“Our game is set in the year 2330, in a relatively small pocket of the Milky Way”, he begins. “Around 20 years before the start of the game, the two largest factions in The Settled Systems, the United Colonies and Freestar Collective, engaged in the bloody colony war. Today, the major factions enjoy an uneasy peace, but The Settled Systems are still pretty dangerous.”
The trailer goes on to unveil some of the dangers that players will face in the game, and hoo boy, do they look nasty.
New Starfield Trailer Reveals The Game’s Enemies
Some of the foes from Starfield are revealed in the trailer, offering further insight into the threats that await players in The Settled Systems. Pagliarugo guides us through them - “There are plenty of human threats out there, like Ecliptic Mercenaries, Pirates of the Crimson Fleet, violent Spacers, or even the fanatical religious zealots of House Va’ruun.”
Every little peek that we get at Starfield is an exciting one that expands the many worlds we’ll get to explore and inhabit.
It looks dangerous out there, but if it’s even a fraction as difficult as the wait for Starfield itself, then we’re sure we’ll have no trouble.
