Well, it's finally happened - Silent Hill is back. It's about time. Though it might not be the revival of Silent Hills that Kojima fans have been desperate for over all these years, we have instead been offered a wealth of new titles to come - including the long-awaited remake of the classic Silent Hill 2.

Though fans aren't particularly thrilled by the fact that Bloober Team is working on the title, the fact that it's coming at all is a dream. But, not everyone is particularly stoked - and one of the game's original team members has a bone to pick with Konami.

Silent Hill 2's Translator Wants Proper Credit In The Remake

The translator of the original Japanese script for Silent Hill 2 has clearly still got some hangups about the game being remade, expecting that his work won't be credited at all, as he claims has happened before.

Jeremy Blaustein, the translator of Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania, has taken to Twitter to express his frustrations with the likelihood that his work will go unrewarded by the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake.

"Cool!" he says. "And they will, once again, use the SH2 English script that I wrote/translated (oh, directed too) completely by myself and I will get zero compensation for it and there will not be tens of thousands of people on Twitter outraged on my behalf. Maybe I should make a video?" The translator is seemingly very upset, and quite right too - if his work goes uncredited. We're hoping that he and his followers can make a stink about it.

When Could The Silent Hill 2 Remake Release?

Though the Silent Hill 2 remake has only recently been announced, the lack of a release date or release window for the game has fans wondering when they can expect to be stepping into James Sunderland's shoes once again.

As it seems that production hasn't yet wrapped on the game, it'd be safe to say we'll be waiting at least a year for the finished game - but to assume it'll come even later is probably safer. Late 2024, maybe? We may be excited for the survival horror to come slinking back into our lives, we're hoping that Blaustein gets his due credit. After all, we owe it to him for being able to understand the game at all.
