The Shopify Rebellion have acquired the old Version1 roster, also inheriting the slot at the Game Changers Championship in São Paulo, Brazil, making them one of the favourites to win it all.

Shopify Rebellion has acquired the VALORANT roster from Version1, featuring top talents Melanie "meL" Capone, Ava "florescent" Eugene, Alexis "alexis" Guarrasi, Sarah "sarah" Simpson, and Nicole "Noia" Tierce.
The acquisition positions Shopify Rebellion as a favourite for the upcoming VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: Game Changers Championship at the end of the month.
If you can’t beat’em, have’em join you
The former Version1 roster is one of the best teams in the North American Game Changers format, winning two of the last three series in 2023 and finishing in second place for the most recent one.
In Series 3, Version1 met the old roster of Shopify Rebellion in the upper bracket final, sending them down to the lower bracket, during which they got eliminated by the eventual winner, Evil Geniuses.
In late October, Shopify Rebellion announced the departure of its old roster due to unmet goals of participating in the Game Changers World Championship. By recruiting Version1's entire roster, the Rebellion will also inherit the starting spot the players earned under their old team banner.
A promising outlook for the Game Changers Championship
As one of the eight teams competing in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: Game Changers Championship, Shopify Rebellion is regarded as one of the favourites to win the tournament.
The competition will be the second-ever Game Changers Championship in VALORANT's history, following last year's event in Berlin, where the European team G2 Gozen emerged victorious. The tournament will follow a double-elimination bracket format.
Set to take place from November 28 to December 3, 2023, in São Paulo, Brazil, this championship is a significant event in the VALORANT esports calendar, bringing together top teams from around the world.
