PlayStation Now is, for now, in the mud. It's taken some time, but PlayStation is gearing up to completely revamp the subscription service in the wake of the many successes of Xbox's Game Pass. 'Project Spartacus' is set to give the PlayStation its real Game Pass competitor.
As of right now, PlayStation Now simply isn't cutting it. But, that could be about to change, as a recently rebooted classic is potentially going to be joining the service.
PlayStation Now Could Be Getting Vice City Remastered
After already bagging Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Remastered for the subscription service, it looks as though PlayStation Now could also be getting the freshened up Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Remastered too.
An image has appeared on Twitter, seemingly a picture taken from someone's phone looking at an existing screen on the PlayStation store, revealing the 'Definitive edition' of Vice City, with a design similar to that of previous PlayStation Now reveals. There was a logo emblazoned on the bottom with the text "Available until 2 May 2022".
This may well be good news for fans, and PlayStation Now at large - but this isn't quite the revelation it would have been upon the reveal of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition.
Vice City Remastered Is Insanely Buggy
As will come of no surprise to those who have been following the release of the super-hyped Definitive Edition of Grand Theft Auto III, San Andreas, and Vice City, the unambitious remasters are littered with bugs and other issues. The trilogy bundle promised the best way to experience these classic games that are revered by many as some of the best games ever, but since release, they've been absolutely slated by critics and fans alike.
Naturally, this is good news for consumers - but the arrival of the remade Vice City on PlayStation Now isn't exactly riveting on reflection. This would have been a good idea some months ago - but right now, it's hard to get excited about this new offer for PlayStation Now users. Sorry, Sony - you're going to have to do better than that.
