Ask anyone who's familiar with the gaming industry which console has had the strongest exclusive titles of the generation so far, and nobody is saying Xbox. Sorry about it!

Competing with PlayStation turning out Spider-Men, Gods of War, and a hyper-upgraded return to the world of The Last of Us, as well as standing against Nintendo doing whatever the hell Nintendo does year after year, it makes the company look a little wet in comparison.

Having Starfield is a big moniker to wear, and Hi-Fi Rush was great fun (while it was exclusive, that is) - but are either truly pushing the company ahead?

Even though Xbox seems to have struggled with exclusives in recent years, it looks like big steps could eliminate them altogether. Nothing exemplifies this better than one new move that could be massive for the console.

Persona 6 could be coming to Xbox

This could be big. One insider has claimed that Xbox could be about to claw back the industry's reliance on exclusive titles with perhaps the modern world's most popular JRPG series - returning for a brand-new instalment.

Speaking to DirectXbox, industry insider Nate the Hate has suggested that Atlus' long-awaited next instalment in the Persona series is planned to hit the Xbox. He said in the podcast, "From the information I’ve heard, it does seem that Persona 6 will be coming to the Xbox."

He continued, "I’m not 100% sure if it [will be] day-and-date with the PlayStation version, but considering the way the Persona games have been day-and-date with the multiplatform releases at this point, it may be a safe assumption to make."

Persona as a series has been opening itself up to other consoles in recent years, with many titles in the series gracing both the PlayStation and Xbox's Game Pass - and it looks like it could be about to get even better.

Back in January, it was also reported that Persona 3 Reload will be coming to Nintendo's hardware, even if it ends up being the next Switch which is expected to launch in early 2025.

Atlus insider MbKKssTBhz5 took to Twitter to comment on one tweet that highlighted Atlus' unwillingness to put Persona 3 Reload on the Nintendo Switch, adding that the game will be coming to the next console by Nintendo instead.

No matter the console you call home, it's a great time to be a Persona fan, and it's better news for Xbox still that a huge publisher is willing to shed the shackles of exclusivity. Games are for everyone, and the games themselves seem to be catching on.
