We're all waiting with bated breath to see how HBO kicks on from the spectacular Season 1 of The Last of Us, as the live-action series of Sony's award-winning title took said breath away.

Already we've seen Bella Ramsey smash the gym for a buff Ellie look, and newcomer Abby appears to have been cast ahead of filming.

But while Bella has been doubling down on her efforts, Ellie might be doing a fair bit on her own at the start of Season 2 as Pedro Pascal (Joel) apparently has better things to do.

Pedro Pascal is no doubt the marquee man in The Last of Us, having already racked up impressive cameos on Game of Thrones, Homeland, Dishonoured 2, and Narcos before stepping into Joel's war-torn and battered shoes.

But Pascal's future is jam-packed, and there's that much on his plate that reports suggest his other projects are taking priority and putting The Last of Us Season 2 on the back burner.

According to IMDB, Pascal is working on eight other series or films in addition to The Last of Us, with Gladiator 2 and Tropico already in production and Fantastic Four coming up in the future too.

Now, Insider Gaming has claimed The Last of Us Season 2 could be delayed again as Pascal is being pulled from pillar to post.

Insider Gaming's report now suggests that Season 2's filming has been pushed back to February 20, 2024, where the show will take an entire 7 months to wrap up.

This could mean that Season 2 won't arrive until 2025, a whopping two years after it first aired. Bella Ramsey has already teased a 'buff' Ellie for Season 2, and if The Last of Us is delayed, at least she'll have a little longer to practice those deadlifts.
