It's been some time since we saw Payday 2 take over Steam and the co-op shooter space in one fell swoop, and though the game might have lost its vast playerbase as the years wane on and the likes of Rainbow Six Siege jump in, the dedicated fans have been waiting.
Almost 10 years since the first Payday launched, the franchise has certainly dwindled. Still, the early days of the game were an impressive lesson in co-op play, giving us the freedom to rob banks as a full squad. And now, it looks like 2023 could be the year that we're reintroduced to the mayhem.
Payday 3 Is Set To Land In 2023
Criminals, your time is now. A new video from the Payday team has revealed the logo for the long-awaited Payday 3, and confirmed that the title is set to launch this year.
The new video, titled 'A New Criminal Dawn,' offers a small peek at what players can expect from the next entry, and has unveiled its new logo.
We haven't got a specific release date or window for the game yet, but a voice in the teaser trailer says, "This is the year of Payday 3." Now that the game's Steam page has launched too, its release seems to be growing closer and closer.
What Is Payday 3 About?
We don't have any specific story details about the crime-spree simulator just yet, but we do know where Payday 3 is set, and it seems to indicate that we could be in for a treat.
The game is set in a technologically modern New York City, indicating that the game could be a little more slick and sleek than its predecessor.
It's true that Payday 3 has been a long time coming, and players have certainly been waiting patiently. Now all there is to do is hope it's worth it. Well, we're sure it will be.
