Omen Temporarily Removed From VALORANT

If you're jumping into VALORANT today, you may be wondering where your main Agent has gone. Well, that's if you're a regular hunter from the shadows.

Riot Games has announced, through the official VALORANT Twitter, that Omen has been removed from the game until further notice due to an exploit which allowed him to breach the spawn barriers and advance on the enemy team before the buy-in phase is complete.

VALORANT' stated: "What we thought was a map bug for Omen teleporting past the spawn barriers... is actually an issue with Omen, so we're disabling him until we have a _real_ fix. Which is hopefully tomorrow. Sorry for all of the disruptions."[sic]

The exploit, which we covered in full here, allowed Omen to break through the spawn barriers on 'Bind' by having a teammate mantle the boxes down the middle lane. Omen could then target his 'From the Shadows' ultimate teleportation orb towards the boxes, which due to what seems like a hitbox recognition, would transport him to the other side of the spawn barrier, giving him free rein of the map before the buy-in phase is completed.

It now appears to be a bug with Omen rather than the spawn barriers themselves, which could have easily have been adjusted to fix the exploit. However, the dark destroyer will be temporarily disabled as Riot and the developing team go to work on him and the usage of his ultimate ability. Whether 'From the Shadows' will get nerfed is yet to be seen, although, in the September patch, Breach, Sage, Sova, and Viper all had their abilities modified, meaning some may already be in the pipeline for Omen.
