December 18, 2023, will go down in history as an Earth-shattering day for the video game industry. Even though gaming leaks feel like the norm at this point, what with all we knew about Grand Theft Auto 6 before its first trailer, that hasn't stopped a massive Insomniac Games leak from feeling truly huge.

Details about the future of the studio's plans, including new Spider-Man and X-Men titles, have been splashed across the internet. It's a tragic leak for Insomniac, with confirmation of the studio's next lineup of titles seemingly confirming a new Ratchet and Clank title for 2029.

A huge sum of mood boards and concept art have crash-landed on the internet. The key art has been shared on Reddit via an Imgur link, and it reveals a new look at a giant spaceship that players will be able to take control of in the new title.

Along with this, we can see Ratchet blasting a new foe with an interesting energy-beam weapon, as well as the implication that the game could be adopting a slightly darker atmosphere. We could be moving away from Dr Nefarious as a big bad and landing on a "Dark Matter Beast." Yikes.

The space travel of the game seems to be a big focus of the title, with the concept for "Take the Wheel" pointing towards the excitement of travelling through space with a whole crew, and its inclusion of the return of Rivet hasn't gone unnoticed either.

The Ratchet & Clank leaks have revealed that a big part of the game's story will revolve around our titular heroes stumbling upon a full Lombax society. Remember, Ratchet's race was thought to be entirely extinct before his meeting Rivet in Rift Apart.

While the story of Ratchet & Clank has been fairly simple over the years, it's still nice to see that we'll get to dive a little further into its titular character's heritage. The leak is monstrous, and it reveals much more about the game than certainly Insomniac would like - but it's out there now.
