Even in spite of NARAKA: Bladepoint never managing to reach the soaring heights that the battle royale genre has offered Fortnite, that doesn't mean it's one to throw in the towel. Not in the slightest.

It's incredibly clear that 24 Entertainment knows they've got something special here, with a melee-focussed BR experience that brings the slashing gameplay of the likes of Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden to the battlefield, with a wealth of characters and crossovers to keep things spicy.

And now, it's only about to get more exciting.

NARAKA Fest reveals PS5 port and a new hero

Two characters in NARAKA: Bladepoint clash swords.

Talk about a big reveal.

NARAKA Fest intended to bring some big reveals for the BR title, and it came through in droves, with its biggest announcement revealing that the game will finally be making it to PS5 as a free-to-play title, with cross-play enabled across all of its existing platforms.

This is massive news for those hoping to get involved in the esports firecracker, but it doesn't end there - a new 12v12 gang wars game mode titled Capture the Spirit Well, as well as a new hero in the shape of Tessa, the 1000-year-old fox demon. Only in NARAKA.

What is everything coming to NARAKA: Bladepoint?

There's a lot on the way, but don't panic, because we've got the full list of new details coming to the title. You can expect:

  • The 12v12 gang wars mode, Capture the Spirit Well
  • A new Dual Halberds weapon
  • Justice Chamber updates are coming to Guild Mode
  • Tessa, the new hero
  • New rewards for players who have already purchased the game, like a free upgrade to the deluxe edition if you've played on Xbox Game Pass, and an in-game gold reward depending on your current edition of the game
  • PlayStation 5 player exclusive items, and anniversary-themed events and rewards
  • A collaboration with Dwelling in the Funchun Mountains, based on the classic Chinese painting
  • A new 3D lobby a la Fortnite, where players can run around before entering a game
  • A new season skin theme

There's a lot set to come to the game, and it looks like 24 Entertainment is serious about getting NARAKA: Bladepoint in front of as many eyes as possible. If it takes off and earns dominance over the battle royale world, don't say we didn't warn you.
