MW3 players demand nerfs to one-shot-kill LMG

Call of Duty fans are demanding nerfs to a one-shot-kill light machine gun, which is causing havoc in the Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer.

The Aftermarket Part cycle in Modern Warfare 3 has been quite eclectic. The recipe has been cooked up and scoffed multiple times, as extremely powerful JAK conversion kits have been made and subsequently nerfed soon after.

From the first AMP kit in the Beta, which saw Renettis completely take over the meta, the JAK conversions have been built up and knocked down like a tower of Jenga. The only question that loomed was how long these AMP kits could reign.

The same story is upon us again as the RPK's turn on the throne has arrived, but the common folk are already calling for its kingdom to fall.

Modern Warfare 3 players call for RPK nerfs with new AMP kit

The JAK Cataclysm kit for the RPK is one of the more bizarre upgrades that we've seen come from the Aftermarket Part feature, as it added sniper bullets to the drum magazine and reimagined the LMG as the famed Barrett .50cal.

Usually, the RPK is a light machine gun known for its fire rate and flexibility, often being a bridge between long-distance ARs and the heavy-hitting 100-mag beasts like the Bruen.

But, the Cataclysm kit turned the gun into a one-shot-kill sniper anywhere in the body. It's made it incredibly powerful, while its speed has also forced it to be a demon on small maps. However, just weeks after being added, fans want it nerfed.

Taking to Reddit, one player questioned, "You think the RPK needs a nerf?" It was followed by a clip on Rust where they racked up nearly ten kills in as many bullets, leaving many players calling for its head.

"Definitely. They just gave an lmg sniper rounds but kept lmg stats, at least they learned their lesson and didn't keep lmg aim assist," said one fan.

Another agreed, adding, "It's a cheese gun, and not the first one so the novelty of having a purposely overpowered weapon in the game has long passed and now it's just annoying."

"Funny enough in this clip I played against a dev. Hopefully they look into it. I have only played the RPK cuz most of the lobby was using it," added the original poster, who can be seen killing Raven Software alias "PokerFace".

The weapon balances might not come into play until at least Season 5 Reloaded, which is in two weeks. At that point, a new JAK kit will likely take over and prove to be overpowered in a different way.
