Now that the dust has settled from the Modern Warfare 3 Beta, a period of reflection has dawned on Sledgehammer Games, who will now be focusing on improvements to the game before its launch in three weeks' time.

The devs have also been very admitting in allowing community feedback to influence product decisions too, hence why minimaps, red dots, and covert sneakers have been added.

So with only a few attempts left to wrangle the ear of the developers, fans are now joining together to ask for a huge weapon-balancing effort before Modern Warfare 3 releases in full.

Modern Warfare 3 fans call for sniper and shotgun nerfs

Following the Beta, players have taken up issue with the shotguns and snipers specifically, claiming that the one-shot guns shouldn't be that overpowered when there is an increased health rate from games gone by.

Taking to Reddit, one fan said, "There's no need for a 30+ rounds sniper that can go no stock and réflex sight. Why? As if snipers weren't OP enough?" before similar comments were made towards the shotguns, which were too powerful but had too little range.

Fans did hail the Aftermarket Parts workshop Renetti for offering a good alternative meta, but aside from the usual guns, most fans agreed that 99% of guns felt "unusable".

From the get-go, the MCW assault rifle and Striker SMGs were by far the best guns on the game, and anything that wasn't quite in this mix failed miserably.

Now with more weapons set to be included in the full game, Redditors have asked for more choices to excel.

"I understand that there HAS to be a meta, a fastest killing weapon cause otherwise it wouldnt make sense to have different options, but MAN the first battle rifle sucks way more than it should," the post read.

Sledgehammer will also have the mammoth task of rebalancing the original MW2 guns as they transfer over too.

With hope, it won't be the MCW and Striker show all year round.
