With countless entries in the 20-year history of the Call of Duty franchise, sometimes it's interesting to look back on previous titles and remember what they did well.

Well, a set of CoD fans decided to do exactly with MW2019, comparing it with the latest Modern Warfare 2 and evaluating what features they would bring over from the predecessor.

MW2 players reveal what 'MW19 did better' than sequel

What’s one thing MW19 did better than MW2 and one thing that MW2 did better than MW19?

Taking to the ModernWarfareII subreddit, user Realistic_Advice1890 asked the community, "What's one thing MW19 did better than MW2 and one thing that MW2 did better than MW19?"

The most popular response from one fan was the ability to customise your reticle in MW2019, which isn't a feature in MW2. It's clear this extra level of depth when creating the perfect loadout was something players appreciated, and could be added to MW2 at some point in the future.

Another aspect s of MW2019 that players loved was the arsenal of guns. According to another user, "All the weapons in 19 were WAY more unique than what we have now... The diversity was way better."

Finally, mobility was mentioned by multiple users, who claimed MW2019 had 'better movement' thanks to 'slide cancelling,' which made the gameplay feel smoother. It's more than a little convenient that 2011's Modern Warfare has previously been praised as faster than 2022's mainline game.

Of course, the community mentioned a lot of aspects from MW2 that are better than MW2019, with one of them being the 'progression.' Someone concluded that grinding out levels for guns in MW2019 felt like a 'second job' and they're glad it was 'readjusted' in MW2.

The final feature that players love in MW2 is the 'shooting range, serving as a 'nice addition' for practising your skills. Some users also mentioned that the maps at launch in MW2 were 'a huge step up compared to MW2019.'

It's clear both titles have their strengths and weaknesses in the eyes of CoD fans, but it'll be interesting to see if the devs reintroduced any old features from MW2019 to improve MW2. Out of all the suggestions, customisable reticles seem like an easy win.
