Season 3 Reloaded of Modern Warfare 2 introduced the Throwing Star to the game and since its release, the equipment hasn't received much attention from the community.

Some players have even labelled the new Lethal as 'garbage' and claimed they'd prefer just to continue using their trusty Throwing Knife.

Unfortunately, the Throwing Stars only one-shot a foe if you land a direct hit to the head, but they can be thrown at a rapid rate towards an opponent which makes them hard to dodge.

Well, instead of giving up on this slept-on Lethal, one talented MW2 player decided to prove they can be deadly by pulling off multiple outplays with the Throwing Stars.

Taking to the ModernWarfareII subreddit, user guywhodo decided to show some of their outplays with the Throwing Star lethal.

Landing every blade with pinpoint accuracy, the talented MW2 player makes hitting headshots with the Throwing Star look easy.

In order to make the equipment worth using, they utilise a Riot Shield to protect them from enemy gunfire. Whenever they spot an opponent, guywhodo simply lowers their guard for a half-second to toss out a Throwing Star, securing them another guaranteed kill.

It's clear a lot of work went into recording these clips and based on how skilled guywhodo is with the Lethal, we can assume countless hours went into mastering the Throwing Star.

Are Throwing Stars meta in Modern Warfare 2?

In short, no Throwing Stars are not meta or considered strong in Modern Warfare 2 as they do not have the ability to one-shot a target without a headshot.

This makes them wildly inconsistent and difficult to use during an intense gunfight. Despite this, getting a kill with a Throwing Star is extremely satisfying and using a Riot Shield will help significantly if you're determined to use them in your matches.

So, while the Throwing Stars are unlikely to take over a game, they are worth using if you're just looking to have some fun with an underused Lethal in MW2.
