Whilst many people were advised to stay indoors this summer, the world turned to their screens to avoid insanity. The UK lockdown officially started on March 16, and since then, many people have ventured on new journeys across many worlds, such as slaying dragon in Skyrim, bowing to Tom Nook's every command in Animal Crossing, and stealthy slicing their way through Japan in Ghost of Tsushima.

Video games and esports drastically increased in popularity, none other than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and FIFA 20, which have been found to be the best-selling games during Lockdown in the UK.

The Entertainment Retailers Association released that between the period of March 23 to June 13, FIFA 20 was the most purchased game, followed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and despite being seven years old, Grand theft Auto V.

FIFA 20 sold 506,572 copies during the UK lockdown, whilst Call of Duty sold 474,902 copies of Modern Warfare, and GTA V was downloaded 438,902 times. Call of Duty also released Modern Warfare 2 Remastered within this time frame, which came as the 7th most popular game, selling 203,749 copies.

Activision also announced that Modern Warfare, featuring the popular battle-royale Warzone, was the highest-selling Call of Duty title ever during the second quarter of the year, in addition to smashing the record in the first quarter in March.

Other notable inclusions within the list are Monopoly Plus in fifth place, as Ubisoft's collaboration with the classic board game gave 253,045 UK members endless hours of entertainment. Retro card game Uno also made the top 20, having 112,800 fall victim to the devilish '+4 'card.
