Unlike many other esports games, Rocket League's ranked leaderboards are dominated by the best professional players in the world. Seldom does anyone unnoticed slip through the ranks and achieve the top spot on any of the team-based leaderboards.

This makes it befitting that arguably the best player of the last two years has now smashed the ranked leaderboards record.

Esports Awards' Controller Rookie of the Year 2021 and the 2022 World Championship Defensive MVP Evan "M0nkey M00n" Rogez has set a Rocket League first and broken the record for the highest MMR rating of all time in the 2v2 playlist.

M0nkey M00n Breaks Rocket League 2v2 MMR Record

The Team BDS superstar has now smashed the 2v2 MMR record by breaking into the 2600s, which currently sits over 100 MMR points above second-place Landon "BeastMode" Konerman and third-placed fellow Frenchman, Axel "Vatira" Touret.

M0nkey M00n's 2607 MMR is one higher than the previous record, which was set by Caden "Sypical" Pellegrin in 2022. Back then, Sypical achieved 2606 in both 2v2 and 3v3.

What makes this feat arguably more impressive is that M0nkey M00n primarily solo-queues in ranked, meaning that he is finding synergy with a range of fellow pros and highly-ranked players against duos who are likely grinding the ladder together.

Rocket League Fans Are Loving M0nkey M00n's New Record

Only recently, we saw M0nkey M00n open up against his battle with mental health and off-field personal difficulties, which then translated to a downward trend in form for Team BDS.

However, after speaking about it on Twitter, M0nkey M00n now appears to be getting his mojo back in Rocket League, and fans are thrilled.

"Bros just built different man, he's out here doing side quests," said one fan on Reddit. Another added, "Monkey is more than an entire regular rank above second place, that is absurd."

M0nkey M00n will be hoping that his recaptured form can subsequently spearhead a resurgence for Team BDS too, who have so far struggled in the RLCS after being crowned World Champions in 2022.
