Kojima Clarifies PlayStation Future Following Xbox Partnership

Hideo Kojima's future with gaming companies has seemingly become a little muddled. It makes sense for him, to be honest. The video game auteur has built a name for himself by simply refusing to adhere to the status quo, using subterfuge and bonkers means to announce and sustain his games.
Most notably, the huge reveal that the canned P.T was actually a demo for the now-cancelled Silent Hills proved that anything could be next for him at any given time. And with his new commitment to Xbox, fans have wondered if this unpredictability applies to the consoles he chooses to work with. Now, Kojima Productions has ironed the rumours out.
Will Kojima Productions Still Work With PlayStation?
Don't panic, PlayStation fans - Kojima isn't leaving you in the dust. The reveal that the next game from Hideo Kojima would be making use of the Xbox Series' technology made PS users nervous that the partnership between the dev and console was over.
Thanks to a new tweet from the English language account of Kojima Productions, we know for sure that it's not all done and dusted with PlayStation. "After the announcement of our partnership with Microsoft using the cloud technology, many people have asked us about our collaboration SIE.
"Please be assured that we continue to have a very good partnership with PlayStation as well." So, it's clearly not all over for PlayStation users. Still, given Kojima's previous exclusivity with the likes of Metal Gear and Death Stranding, change is on the horizon. You'd guess that fans were on the brink of life or death with the rumours.
Kojima Fans Got Toxic Over Kojima's Partnerships
Every time we're reminded of the end of the console wars, fanboys seem to change our minds. Sony has exclusives like God of War and Spider-Man, while Microsoft has Halo and (maybe) eventually Call of Duty locked to their respective consoles. A lot of people on the internet have been losing their minds over this new Kojima deal, creating petitions and making bold threats as the developer works with Xbox.
There's still a bitter rivalry between both sides, although it doesn't seem to come from those actually working there. It's bleak that this attitude still very much exists, especially when it comes to creators as artistic as Kojima - but it's par for the course. Sorry, nerds - everyone's getting a slice of the Kojima pie.
