Last night finally saw the long-overdue reveal of more Hogwarts Legacy gameplay, and fans are delighted. It's been a long time coming, and Harry Potter fans have been waiting forever for a game like this - and it's finally on the way, and is flying towards us in time for a Holiday 2022 release.

But, there's one thing that has caught fans of the Wizarding World off-guard - and that's the combat. Naturally, as an action game, you'd hope for some fighting, regardless of whatever daft form that takes - but fans have been stunned by the combat of Hogwarts Legacy. Because it's violent.

Hogwarts Legacy Is Brutal

As revealed by the new peeks at Hogwarts Legacy's gameplay, the battle mechanics in the game are incredibly violent, and much more brutal than we could have expected from a game based on the relatively clean Harry Potter series.

The gameplay sees the player setting foes on fire, hurtling them into the ground, throwing them around the open areas of the game and even casting Avada Kedavra, the spell that basically means instant death. The game is surprisingly savage, and fans simply aren't sure they were ready for such vicious attacks.

Fans React To Hogwarts Legacy's Violence

Fans have taken to Twitter to voice their opinions of how brutal the game is - and they seem to like it, to be honest.

Fans of the franchise are probably more ready to effortlessly kill than the game's developers were anticipating, meaning that most players are likely to take a Dark Wizard path than to be some goody-goody Griffindor.

The game looks surprisingly lethal, and it's an interesting turn for a game set in the Wizarding World to take. Looks like we'll be embracing our inner Dark Wizard for this one…
