It can't be that hard to add a 2v2 game mode where the objective is just to shoot other people, can it?

The Modern Warfare 2019 game mode "Gunfight" is a fan favourite game mode after its introduction was made. It harnessed everything great that the Gulag offered and cramming it into a playlist where players can assert their gun skill dominance over their enemies.

Having been heavily rumoured to be returning in the rebooted sequel title in Modern Warfare 2 Season 2, it now appears that Gunfight is out, and players are not happy.

Gunfight No Longer Coming In Modern Warfare 2 Season 2

According to the reputable in-the-know account CharlieIntel, Gunfight is no longer a part of Infinity Ward's plans for Modern Warfare 2 Season 2.

After relaying the information that Season 2's roadmap will arrive on February 8, the page then ruled out the notion of Gunfight with a swift "no".

The outlet later reiterated that "there is no Gunfight in Season 2," debunking any previous leaks that pictured the game mode arriving alongside Warzone's Plunder and the party mode Gun Game.

Call of Duty Fans Are Frustrated At 'Dripfeed' Content

"Welcome to Call of Duty Dripfeed Warfare," one fan said on Reddit. "They can't let us have the fun content early on in the life cycle. It's also why we likely won’t get party modes (Infected, Gun Game, etc) for another couple of seasons too," they added.

Another fan claimed that "Modern gaming is so depressing," due to the new craze of minimalistic launches and a slow release of post-launch content. A third grumbled, "It's embarrassing how bad they're treating MP. They're this close to putting the final nail in the coffin for this franchise for me."

It seems to be quite a common theme with Call of Duty multiplayer, as players have already been told not to expect much content in Season 2. At least if you're a DMZ fan, the good news is that it's getting most of Warzone's attention.
