GameBattles will always hold a spot in the hearts of the competitive Call of Duty community, and even the wider fan base for that matter, having served as the hub for any wagers, 1v1s, or community tournaments ever hosted.
The platform has now, sadly, been shut down though, as the last remaining branch of MLG has been closed down by Activision and Microsoft.
But as we laid GameBattles to rest on January 15, one player has remembered to capitalise on his earnings, as Aydan "Aydan" Conrad has swooped in for a massive last-minute payday.
Aydan lands a last-minute payday from GameBattles
With its final breaths, GameBattles has now made the Warzone streamer Aydan a substantial amount richer than he was, as the former Fortnite professional realised he had over $25,000 worth of unclaimed winnings left on the platform.
These would have been from Wagers Aydan had partaken in over the years, having often squared up to the Call of Duty professional community in show matches and self-organised exhibitions.
The streamer initially thought that he'd missed the opportunity to get his money, but after searching for help on Twitter he found an invoice landing in his emails.
Aydan adds to his massive esports earnings tally
Despite not having featured in as many tournaments as usual in previous months, given that he believes Warzone esports is "dead", Aydan's GameBattles earnings will likely get the year off to a flying start for the battle royale guru.
According to Esports Earnings, this GameBattles winnings tally to more than what Aydan earned in 2023 through official events ($18,600) and will add to his $622,900 total esports winnings since he first broke onto the Fortnite scene in 2018.
Given GameBattles' status amid a dying Warzone scene, it's a shame Activision isn't supporting the platform, knowing players can make similar earnings to Aydan.
