It won't be too long before Warzone players are whisked onto a boat with Fortune's Keep in the background, sailing towards a new horizon with Warzone 2 beckoning. But if you thought you would grab yourself a life jacket and armbands as protection on your waft, you might want to get them inflated now, otherwise, you'll be drowning in sweat in Warzone Season 5.

Fortune's Keep might have been taken over by Rocket League-esque flying cars, but it still remains quite a popular choice over Caldera for the Warzone faithful.

Despite being quite popular in Season 5, albeit forcibly from the controversial removal of Rebirth Island, Fortune's Keep has been hit with some changes, and fans of the maps aren't happy with just how sweaty it has become.

Fortune's Keep Changes Are Rattling Fans

The small-scale Warzone map has been a welcome addition since being pushed into rotation, however, going into Season 5, the developers have chosen to implement some changes that were previously experimented with through an LTM.

The changes saw lobby size be increased, meaning Fortune's Keep was slightly more densely populated, only by a mere two or three squads though.

  • Solos: From 45 players to 50 (+5)
  • Duos: From 46 players to 50 (+2 squads)
  • Trios: From 45 players to 51 (+2 squads)
  • Quads: From 40 players to 52 (+3 squads)

But despite only increasing the population to around 50 players, Warzone fans have already seen a shift in tempo, and it's not to their suiting.

Warzone Fans Claim Fortune's Keep Changers Are 'Too Sweaty'

Following the updated lobby size, players have taken to Reddit to complain about the changes. One fan claimed, "the increased player count that they added this season makes the mode far sweatier and nearly impossible to use any strategy," in a viral thread.

While other fans joked that it's just more people to kill, others pointed out that third and fourth-party gunfights were much more frequent now, and landing spots were too chaotic given the limited popular drop zones.

The developers originally had quite a lot of positive feedback after their LTM in July which experimented with the increased lobby size, but following this small community backlash, they might look to change their minds in the coming weeks.

In a bid to make Warzone as enjoyable as possible in their final hours, maybe now Raven Software might finally listen to their players.
