Lil Uzi Vert is the next captain to take over Fortnite, with his Captain's Day kicking off at 2pm UK time today (Sunday, November 8) and bringing a brand-new SMG, a Sprite and the second Map Fragment of the Treasure Hunters season along with him.
Epic Games confirmed the details in an official Captain's Day post on its Fortnite Communities hub, which lists the start as 9am ET, or 2pm in the UK now the clocks have gone back, with the event running for 24 hours.
What Lil Uzi Vert is bringing to the Island
Lil Uzi Vert takes over the Stronghold as this week's boss, and beating him gets you two new toys. The first is the Lil' SMG, which Epic says fires faster the longer you hold the trigger and gives you a movement speed boost, so it's basically built for players who never let go of the fire button anyway.
The second is the Lil' Uzi Vert Jr. Sprite, which triggers a Chug Splash effect when you restore your shields, and its variants drop more often for the full 24 hours of Captain's Day, so today's the day to go hunting if you want one.
Epic's post also says Cursed Sprites start turning up in the wild from today, and a second Map Fragment washes ashore. According to timesaver.gg, collecting all six fragments over the season unlocks a free loading screen, and you don't need the Battle Pass to do it.
Shop date and what's next
If you'd rather wear the man than fight him, Epic's official Treasure Hunters season post says Lil Uzi Vert arrives in the Item Shop on November 12, the same day Kasane Teto gets her own Music Pass. Epic hasn't shared prices yet, so we'll find out how many V-Bucks he costs when he lands.
The remaining Captain's Days fall on November 12, 15 and 22, with Cap'n Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto still to come, and Treasure Hours carry on every Saturday. If you missed last night's session, our guide to Fortnite's Treasure Hours has the times, and it's worth reading up on the Fortnite Crew changes coming on December 5 before your next renewal too.
Well, it's one way to spend a Sunday afternoon, and it certainly beats doing the washing up.
